About the company
In 2012 the friendship between David Reccole, Philippe Donnat, Yvam Rouvier and Salima Macozzi Reccole became a working partnership thanks to the creation of the French brand Zao Make-Up. The idea of realizing organic cosmetics with bamboo packaging arises from the interest for the East, where this plant grows quickly and is able to absorb large quantities of carbon dioxide. The name, contraction of the two words Zen and Tao, is a further reference to Eastern philosophies and practices of meditation and search for harmony. The firm has been the first to create refillable bamboo cosmetics, and all its products are vegan, organic Ecocert certified, Peta approved and with a sustainable packaging. Thanks to its ecological and ethical commitment, the company was awarded in 2014 by Slow Cosmetique association, guarantee of quality in the cosmetic industry. Zao collaborates with different partners, such as Laboratoires Phyto Technique srl, which operates in Italy and realizes most of the production, and Fabrik Etik, created to promote the work inclusion of people with disabilities, which carries out the packaging of products and the printing of labels.
About the product
The Zao Make-Up pressed eyeshadow n. 117, with its pearly finish, corresponds to “Pinky Bronze” shade, a light brown colour with small golden pigments. Simple and flexible, it is suitable for those who want to obtain a very natural result. Vegan, cruelty free and organic Ecocert certified, it’s enriched with flax seed oil, vegetal squalene and bamboo powder, useful for the hydration and the regeneration of the skin. The firm ensures that the mica used in its products doesn’t come from the exploitation of child labour and the chosen bamboo doesn’t coincide with the one intended for feeding Giant Pandas. L’azienda è stata la prima a creare cosmetici ricaricabili in bambù, e tutti i suoi prodotti sono vegan, biologici certificati Ecocert, Peta approved e dal packaging sostenibile. Grazie all’impegno ecologico ed etico, l’azienda si è guadagnata nel 2014 la menzione Slow Cosmetique, garanzia di qualità nell’ambito cosmetico. L’ombretto compatto in polvere Zao Make-Up n. 117, dal finish perlato, corrisponde alla tonalità “Pinky Bronze”, un marrone chiaro con piccoli pigmenti dorati. Sobrio e versatile, è adatto a chi vuole ottenere un risultato molto naturale. Vegan, cruelty free e biologico certificato Ecocert, è arricchito con olio di semi di lino, squalene vegetale e polvere di bambù, responsabili dell’idratazione e della rigenerazione cutanea. L’azienda assicura che la mica utilizzata nei suoi prodotti non ha nessun legame con lo sfruttamento del lavoro minorile e che il bambù di cui si serve non coincide con quello destinato all’alimentazione dei Panda Giganti.
